Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) provide modular mid-range and high-end storage systems and software. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd. and part of the Hitachi Information Systems & Telecommunications Division.

Hitachi Data Systems’ core disk storage offerings include the Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP), a leading high-end disk storage platform, the Hitachi Unified Storage (HUS) platforms for the midrange markets, the Hitachi NAS (HNAS), an emerging offering for the NAS market, and the recently announced HUS VM entry-level enterprise system that blends the modular HUS hardware and VSPcompatible software.
